Connecting Messenger
Konnie answers the people who message your Facebook Page, and every chat shows up in your Inbox.
Before you start
- A Facebook Page that you manage.
- A Meta app with the Messenger product added.
- Konnie only replies to people who message your Page first.
1. Get your details from Meta
- At developers.facebook.com, open your app and add the Messenger product. Connect your Facebook Page to it.
- Generate a Page access token for that Page under Messenger → Settings → Access tokens.
- Copy the Page ID from your Page under About → Page transparency.
- Copy your App Secret from App settings → Basic in the same app. Konnectivo uses it only to confirm each incoming message really came from Meta.
2. Connect it in Konnectivo
- Go to Channels → Meta connections and open the Messenger tab.
- Paste the Page ID, Page access token and Meta App Secret.
- Press Save & verify. Konnectivo checks them with Meta. The token is stored encrypted and is not shown again.
3. Connect the webhook
After saving, the screen shows a Callback URL and a Verify token. In your Meta app open Webhooks, choose Page, paste both, save, and subscribe to messages.
Confirm it worked
From a personal Facebook account, send a message to your Page. Konnie should reply within seconds, and the chat appears in Inbox. Press Take over to reply yourself.
Good to know
- Konnie answers text messages. Images and other attachments are not answered automatically.
- Messenger does not share a customer's phone number, so Konnie will ask for it when someone wants to book.
- Konnie answers only from your knowledge base and catalog.
If something goes wrong
- Verification fails. The token is for a different Page, or has expired. Generate a fresh Page access token.
- Connected, but no replies. Check the Page webhook is subscribed to messages, and your monthly AI replies have not run out (Usage).
